Focus: GHG Accounting Immersion Course
Participants: MBA-Sustainability Management (Second Year)
Recognizing that greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting has moved from a technical niche to a core organizational competency, this intensive three-day course provided rigorous professional exposure to international standards.
- Conceptual Grounding: Students explored the scientific basis of climate change, the role of anthropogenic emissions, and international frameworks like the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol.
- Technical Framework: The course introduced the technical language of climate accounting, including Global Warming Potential (GWP), emission sources, and $CO_2$-equivalent conversions.
- Practical Calculation: Participants identified emission sources across Scope 1 (direct), Scope 2 (indirect energy), and Scope 3 (value chain), working through simulated industrial scenarios using IPCC
- Verification and Reporting: The final phase focused on GHG inventory quality management, third- party assurance principles, and the role of independent auditors in preventing greenwashing.
