The 8th Annual Sustainability Summit of the School of Sustainability Day-1 was held on 1st February in the international Centre, New Campus. The event was a resounding success with participants from academia, industry, and government, who gathered to discuss and exchange ideas on the future direction of sustainability education.
One of the highlights of the event was the Expert Group Discussion of the SAAB members of School of Sustainability with the faculty and management on the Future direction of Sustainability Education. This discussion provided valuable insights on how sustainability education can be steered towards a more sustainable future.
Another highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Open-air Butterfly Park at XIM University Campus. This initiative was implemented by the student club ECOSPACE, and was a beautiful addition to the campus, showcasing the power of student-led initiatives in promoting sustainability.
The SAAB members and the externally invited experts were part of 3 panel discussions anchored by the faculty members.

Panel II –“Future of Sustainability education: Employability skill for sustainability education”
Panel III – “Future of Sustainability education: Experiential learning”
The students curated an event on Climate Crisis Awareness that was also a key event at the meet. It served as a sobering reminder of the urgency of taking action on the climate crisis and highlighted the role of education in promoting awareness and action on this critical issue.
In conclusion, the 8th Annual Sustainable Meet of the School of Sustainability was a testament to our shared aspiration of “The Future We Want.” The theme of the event “Sustainable Development & Climate Change Action: A Review and Way Forward for Sustainability Education” was well reflected in the discussions and initiatives showcased at the meet. Let’s continue to work together towards a more sustainable future.
