About Us:

ConXerv is the Committee for Sustainability of the School of Sustainability at XIM University. Founded by the students of the MBA in Sustainability Management program, our mission is to instill the values of sustainability in every resident of XIM University. As a functional committee, ConXerv is dedicated to empowering students to become future leaders in sustainability by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and action.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower students to become future leaders in sustainability by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and action. We achieve this through a range of events, activities, and initiatives that promote critical thinking, knowledge sharing, and practical experience in sustainability challenges.

Events and Activities

ConXerv organizes various events and activities throughout the year to engage students in sustainability:

Parivartan: Annual Business Conclave

Released quarterly, Paritraan features articles, interviews, and case studies exploring diverse sustainability themes. This magazine serves as a platform for students to showcase their research and perspectives, contributing to the broader conversation on sustainability.

 

Case Competitions :

We organize exciting case competitions that challenge MBA – Sustainability Management students to apply strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world business scenarios. These competitions provide a platform for students to collaborate, innovate, and showcase their expertise to industry leaders.

QuizX

As part of Parivartan, ConXerv organizes an official quiz called QuizX. This quiz is conducted on the Unstop platform and is open to students from other colleges and universities. The results are announced during the Parivartan event, adding an element of excitement and competition.

Paritraan: Sustainability Magazine

Released bimonthly, Paritraan features articles, interviews, and case studies exploring diverse sustainability themes. This magazine serves as a platform for students to showcase their research and perspectives, contributing to the broader conversation on sustainability.

Immersion Courses and Workshops

ConXerv organizes workshops and short courses led by industry experts and faculty on specific sustainability topics. These sessions provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills, enhancing their understanding and competence in sustainability.

Live Projects 

We facilitate live projects that offer students hands-on experience in tackling real-world sustainability challenges. Partnering with businesses, NGOs, and government agencies, these projects allow students to apply their knowledge and make a tangible impact on sustainability issues.

2024 Highlights

Parivartan 2024

On the 23rd and 24th of August, 2024, ConXerv and the School of Sustainability at XIM University hosted the 10th Annual Business Conclave, PARIVARTAN, themed “Financing the Transition to a Net-Zero Economy”

The event explored the vital role of financial systems in driving sustainability alongside climate action. The two-day event featured welcome notes from Prof. Dr. Sutapa Pati and Prof. Dr. Tanmay Khuntia. Discussions covered topics like Principles of Responsible Banking, Sustainable Finance, challenges of financing a transition, role of micro-financial institutions, etc.

Annual Business Conclave - Parivartan

XIMUN 5.0

Model United Nations was hosted at XIM University as a collaborative effort of ConXerv, IRC (UG & PG), HabituX and SpeakUp, on 26th and 27th October, 2024, for students from XIM and other Universities. Delegates representing 29 countries debated on the theme of the session “Climate and Disaster-resilient Urban Futures – the Future of Asian and Pacific Cities”.

Critical themes like pre-disaster alert systems, universal data source, Public-Private Partnerships, Early Warning Systems, Integration of Renewable Energy in Alarm systems, Sustainable bonds, and equipping communities for climate action. Through the MUN, challenges of competing national interests, and addressing them on the grounds of diplomacy, compromise, and multilateral cooperation were revealed.

XIMUN 5.0

Water and Climate Academy – Young leadership Programme

The Young Leadership Programme centered on the theme “Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience” was conducted on December 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2024, bringing together policy makers, industry leaders, young researchers, and students to explore innovative solution to mitigate challenges posed by climate change. Spanning over 6 technical sessions, topics like Ecosystem-based adaptations, water conservation, Disaster Risk Reduction, usage of tools like Crop Water Budgeting (CWB) app, youth empowerment for sustainable action, and climate-positive initiatives in coastal and wetland ecosystems.
